Charts resizing fonts

Can anyone explain why Excel has suddenly begun to change the font sizes of my chart axes and axis labels?
Sometimes I can save a perfectly good chart only to have the labels resized to 1 point when I open it again. Why? I can see no reason for this as I've not changed the set up recently yet I don't remember ever experiencing this before.

when you are setting the font size, there is a small check box in the lower left of the font dialog box labeled 'Auto Scale'. Is that check box unchecked?

I've only recently discovered this check box. It could be the cause of my problem, or, more properly, the solution to it.
What is still puzzling me is that I've never bothered with this box before and yet, the problem has only very recently appeared. Why?
Anyway, thanks for the tip on the autosizing box.
