Custom chart- line column on 2 axes

I'm creating a custom line column chart on 2 axes with 6 rows of data. I want 5 rows on the primary axis as bars and the 6th row on the secondary axis as a line. When creating the chart I get 3 data points as bars and 3 as lines regardless of which axis they are on. How can I get the 5 data points as bars and the 6th as a line?

do this

Hey Barry.

You need to identify which bar/line series that automatically pops in on your chart is supposed to go where (likely they're defaulting differently than you're hoping: your legend should show what line is what). Then you can change the lines to bars and vice-versa, and also correct the axis it is supposed to go on.

To change the lines to bars or vice-versa: select one of the incorrect series, right click\Chart type (then you can select bar or line).

To change the axis (I assume you have 2 y-axes, a primary and secondary axis), select the series you want to change, Format\Selected data Series\axis\then select primary or secondary axis.

That should do it.

Re: do this

Thanks Adam, that's something I never would have tried!
