I have a log setup that utilizes codes in 1 column. Is there a way to be able to look up the codes so that I can have some consistency? Currently the codes are in a legend on the worksheet, but not everyone is looking at the legend for the proper codes. I was wondering if there was an easy way to look up this field for every entry (row). If not, I may switch the log to Access.

Not sure what a "log setup" is, but you can take advantage of the VLOOKUP formula.

If I understand you correctly then have a look
@ online help for Data Validation.
This should limit the users selection to your
code field.
