Copy cells containing formulas

In Lotus 123 when I copy cells/rows containing formulas which include reference to other cells the cells/rows that I paste them to reflect the new cells in my formulas. In Excel the cells that I paste them to do not reflect the new cells but copy the exact cells/rows that I copied from. The formulas do not contain any $ signs. How do I get Excel to do what Lotus 123 does for me?

I think i've found the answer to my question, but if you would like to comment I'd appreciate it. Thank you

I don't know. In Excel it always works for me the way you describe it working in Lotus. The references are relative and they change appropriately, unless, of course, they have the $ signs indicating that the references are absolute.

What did you figure out?

Apparently I made a mistake because it works in the worksheet I just pulled up. I don't know why it didn't work previously. Thank you for your prompt response. This is a great forum for a newbie Excel user!
