gridlines lost after conversion

Please help! I am converting a spreadsheet from Quattro Pro 7 to Excel 2000. I saved it in QP as an .xls file and it came up in Excel without a problem except now the gridlines do not appear. If I open a new file in Excel, I can copy and paste the gridlines
from it to the converted file, but then I lose the for-
matting in the converted file. The gridlines box is
checked under the Tool, Options, View tab of the converted file. The person using this needs the gridlines. Thanks

Try selecting the entire worksheet (click on the little box to the left of column A and above row 1). Select Format|Cells, select the "Patterns" tab, and make sure that "No Color" is selected.

Does this help?
