Advanced IF Function

Mr. Excel,

We have a average spreadsheet using links, sums, =if's, etc. To take care of most of our semi-lazy (ok we hate writing) department.

On one sheet ("Figures"), we have nothing but vehicle model numbers with their corresponding prices and type. Each model row has the simple =if(Cell#=#,#,#).When a model number is typed in on a different sheet, the "Figures" sheet displays the cost for that particular model, then an easy add columns, and send that info to another sheet.

Question is, since in Excel 97 you can only do up to 8 formulas in one cell, how can we send the cooresponding text? we have about 79 types, too many for one formula.

Any assistance, greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Try Lookup formulae (NT)

Re: Try Lookup formulae (NT)

Thank you for posting to try the Lookup formulae. It's getting me closer - but not there. I used the Lookup value, lookup vector, result vector one.

It does seem to try to match one particular cell (defined in lookup value), to lookup vector - but the result is not on the same row as the matched value.I can't really place why it isnt. - no seemingly particular order for the results it pulls.

Any ideas?
