ISBLANK formula

Can you give me the formula to stop "totals" from repeating? Example I have a total in E2, which calculates the following: e1+c2-b2. However, I don't want the totals to repeat themselves all the way down the column. I know you have to use"ISBLANK" but it just won't work for me. Can you help with the correct formula? THANKS!
