Using Excel 97.

I have a simple table in which I have:
Row values
Column values
Resulting cell values in the matrix.

If I know the Row value and the cell value, how do I return the relevant column value.

Got to be simple, but damned if I can see it....

Thanks in advance

could you supply an example of the cell values and what you'd expect the answer to be

Re: could you supply an example of the cell values and what you'd expect the answer to be

OK.

This is from Aircraft Climb profile tables in an attempt to automate flight planning procedures.
(I actually have a workable spreadsheet, but am trying to refine it.)

Rows are Aircraft Weights at commencement of climb.
Columns are the Altitude to be climbed to.
The resulting cells contain the distance traveled in achieving an altitude for a given start weight.
(The progress is not linear, therefore a simple formula is not applicable)

I need to derive an altitude achieved, for a given start weight and distance traveled.

Thanks
