In cell b1, enter a 1, in cell C1, enter a 2. Highlight both cells. Place your mouse over the fill handle at the bottom right of highlighted cells, hold down left mouse button and drag to the right as far as need. Do the same down row 1, ie 1 in A2, 2 in A3 and drag down. In cell b2, enter the formula =B$1*$A2. Copy (ctrl insert), while holding down the shift key, hit control + end and then enter. Voila!
