naming a range lower case c

using Name Range Create and one range is c, it creates
the name as c_ Why would it do that?

my guess is that internally, Excel uses the letter 'c' to refer column c and Excel adds the '_' to prevent any conflicts. (case makes no difference in range names)

Intresting, It also does the same with the letter "r" yet all the other letters of the alphabet it allows.

Then C probably refers to "COLUMN", R to "ROW"?

Arrh, of course!

Well done Aladin, the old R1C1 reference! I clear case of not seeing the forest through the trees.
