vlookups

I need to know if it is possible to do a lookup from one sheet to another. And if so, how? Either VB code or simple instructions would be appreciated. I have to eventually distribute 300 sheets and do not want to use links.
I tried to use help, but it was of very little.

See post from earlier today for an example.
Shows an example of a vlookup from one sheet to another. You just need to specify the sheet in the range of cells. Is this what you mean?
