add the following formula to the cell you want the date to appear in.

=today()

Addition question to this....how do it get it to retain the date. Say I put that formula in a cell and when I go back to that sheet tomorrow it changes it to the current date. How do I get it to hold the date that was put there to begin with?

Use control colon (Ctrl-:) instead of using a formula.

I'm very interested in the replies. I wonder if it can be done with a Macro??
Thanks Mike
