Big Trouble in little excel

Help someone please.I am using excel and whenever I get my worksheet up the moment I select a cell the cell acts as an anhcor and whichever way I move my mouse it darkens the cell my scroll lock is not on and my mouse is fine .I cant do anything in the worksheet and the only way to exit is to press alt/contl/del so I am stuck please help.Thanks

No all keys working fine I think it may have something to do with a formula

I tried that and only got the stanard setup and formatting was also highlighted is that the prob?
Another thing if I click on say b4 and move one square to c4 the box at the top shows 1r*2c what does this mean?

try :
tools
options
general
and see what is checked against "zoom with intellimouse"
maybe your mouse is sending different signals than what excel is expecting ?
(sorry - just a shot in the dark)
