Can't read Diskette

Posted by Freedom on November 10, 2000 1:20 PM

I made a mistake and opened a disk under Word and clicked in that little box where the disk will always open in Word. However the disk didn't have any word files on it, I don't know what kind of files are on the disk, and I can't find a program that will read whats on the disk. I've checked the properties and it just says,(Type: SCM file). How can I find out whats on this disk? And whats a SCM file?

I can't answer your whole question, but here's a trick that may help resolve some of it:
In windows explorer, or my computer, or where ever you like to look at files, SHIFT + right click and the "open with" option will be added to your option menu. Here, you can reset the "always open with" setting. I don't know anything about your file type at all.
