Character wrapping in cell

I have a large amount of text in a cell that i have formatted for text and word wrapped. i can see all of the text in the formula bar but cannot see the whole amount of text in the cell itself even if i take the font size down to 6. Curiously when in 'incell' edit all the text does appear in the cell, but will cut off again once out of edit. It also cuts off when the page is printed but evn more curiously, at a different place in the text. Can you help?
I use Excell 2000 on NT

You can enter a hard carriage return by typing <ALT>+&LT;ENTER>. <p>

You can enter a hard carriage return by typing the ALT key plus the ENTER key.

Thanks for that Joe, i wasn't aware of that i'm sure it will come in handy in the future howerever, unfortunatley, it doesn't solve my particular problem at the mo (unless i have mis understood you). That solution seems to rely on having a set piece of text where you enter the carriage returns and then size the cell accoringly to show all. In my case though i will have varying peices of text (probly copied from Word orinigaly. The cell is a set width and the row height is set much higher than i would expect to use, therefore i want the text to auto wrap up to as many lines as it needs to fit into this width. It does up to a point, and then cuts off (even though there appears to be plenty of room left in the cell becasue the row hieght is so high). Does that make sense?
