Does anyone know if I can create my own spreadsheet in Excel and from that produce checks on my laser printer? - or at least buy pre-preprinted checks that will print from my excel spreadsheet?

I don't think you can make your own checks, I think the ink on the check is special. But, you can make a template that you can just type in the info and have it print on a preprinted check. I do that for manual checks everyday at work.
