Column Heading is all Numbers, not Alpha

Opened an older spreadsheet in Excel 2000. The column headings are all 1,2,3, etc. rather than the usual A,B,C, etc. Obviously the formulas don't work now. Can't figure out how this happened, or how to change back. Help Please!

Options|General Then uncheck R1C1 style references
