Combo Box

Even when I have nothing else open, when I put a combo box into my spreadsheet and try to select a name from it, I get the "Not enough resources to display completely" message. Does anyone know why?

Tim:

I kept waiting to see if anyone else would respond before I threw my 2 cents worth in the pool. (It seems after I sent a message some "heavy weight," like my friend Dave, posts a message and I feel like a mouse in a lions den.)

"Resources" in my NT support experience means one of two things: RAM or disk space or both.

If you haven't done one or all of the following recently, try them and then try to do your Combo Box again.

1. delete all *.tmp files throughout your drive.
2. Run scandisk and defrag. (Or, if you have WinNT and don't have Diskkeeper installed, run "chkdsk /f."
3. Check you virtual memory settings. They may be too low.
4. Finally, if none of the above resolves the issue, if you have less than 16 meg RAM and are running one of the later versions of Windows, consider installing more RAM.

(Now watch, someone will come along and blow me out of the water with some fantastic suggestion.)

Kevin,

Thanks for your suggestions but I think it has something to do with the combo-box itself. I have a new laptop with loads of space and plenty of RAM, and I can usually run all sorts of stuff without getting into overload. Also, other users of this spreadsheet have got the same message when they use the box.
