comparing two excel files

I have two Excel (version 2000) documents. Both are similar in content. I need to merge the two and make one document.

Document #1 has info that #2 doesn't. The same can be said for document #2. Is there a way to compare the two in order that the edit process is simplified?

Can you please elaborate...do you want to combine the 2 workbooks into 1 consolidated worksheet, or compare to see if something is in one but not the other, or genrate one workbook with unique values, or something else?
