fill

Hi guys,
this is probably easy for regular excel users, however, being a rank amateur I can't seem to find an answer to my problem in excel 'help'
I am trying to construct a spreadsheet which is updated daily. When I fill in the cells for the day the answer duly appears in the correct cell but continues down to the rest of the cells into which I have 'filled down the formula'. How do I make excel just fill in the day cell and not all the following cells in the fill??? Help

I'm not sure if this well answer your question, but rather than using fill, highligh what you want to bring to the next day, copy it (Edit menu or short cut control C)and then goto you new day, highlight the cells and hit paste (edit menu or control V)
