How do you add (lap) times?

Hi,
I'm trying to add 1:45:75 to 1:05:72 (for eg).
(That's 1 minute 45.75 seconds).
Does anyone know how to do this in Excel?
Thanks a lot,
Ross

Ross,

Format the cells that contain your times as [h]:mm:ss

Using the Sum() function, or just plain old A1 + B1 should give the answer that you expect. Using the [h] format will show hours in excess of 24 as the correct number of hours (eg. 26:15:10), in case you need it.

HTH,

Ian

Ross, enter you times as 1:45.75 and format as
[m]:ss.00

1:45.75 + 1:05.72 = 2:51.47
