i am confuse about excel passwords.
please bear with me

1st there is a password to protect your sheet (what it's formal name )
2nd there is a password to protect your worbook (what it's formal name )
3rd there is a password to protect i don't know
to call it what but you can put in when you save as
your file by clicking options (what it's formal name )

i hope you guys don't laugh at me coz i'm not joking
when i ask this question.hope someone will answer it
so i will get it clearly.regards

You have (for the most part) answered your own questions:

1) Sheet password.
2) Workbook password.
3) Password to Open the file
or Password to Modify the file.

I don't know if these are the "formal" names but it is what Excel calls them when you pull down the menus. No need to be shy, there are no true experts in anything!-BM
