Labeling Scatterplot Coordinates

Posted by John Fava on June 26, 2001 10:23 AM

I cannot seem to label my coordinates on a MS Excel 97 Scatterplot (short of adding text boxes to each point!). Excel seems to allow for labeling either the x or y coordinate alongside the points, but what if you want to label each point separately (say, Brand A, Brand B, Brand C, etc.).

Any suggestions?

These boards move FAST! Didn't want to get lost in the shuffle, and just hoping someone has an answer to this problem. Appreciate your help. Thanks!

Rob Bovey created an excellent addin that labels XY charts. It's called XY Scatter Labeler or something like that.

It's available for download in the addins section of my website.

Aaron, this is terrific! Thank you very much - and very nice website to boot. Much appreciated.
