Not including zero values in an excel chart

I am trying to create a chart that shows data for sites by time. I can't figure out a way to make the chart not graph 0 values. E.g. Months from July 2001 to July 2002 will have data in it until December (when I posted this) but the values for the rest of the period will be blank which is interpreted as Zero and hence gets charted. Anyone with ideas please feel free to e-mail me.

If you want this to be the default behaviour, go to Tools > Options > Chart and select how you want empty cells plotted.
