suppress duplicates in a column??

This is a feature I have found helpful in other applications but not finding it in EXCEL.

Say I have Column A thats called "Item" and Column B called "Who Cares". I don't want to continue to see the specific ITEM repeated over & over, rather a blank cell (suppressed duplicate) so that the end user can just focus on the Who Cares Column with out haveing to always glance over at the ITem column, recognizing its the same Item as before.
