unknown link

When I open my spreadsheet, I am asked if I want to update links. If I click yes, as well as the links I want updated, the sheet ries to update a link to a file in my c:/temp folder called AMPprog.xls
I don't know what this is, and I can't find and mention of it in any of my cell formulas. How can I trace this link and get rid of it??
Is it an add-in that I've lost? Anyone got any ideas??

Check the named ranges, I'll bet you've got a name that refers to a cell in that file.

When Excel asks you if you want to update links, that means there are references in your workbook to another workbook (in your case, some formulas in your workbook are dependent on cells in the a workbook called AMPprog.xls)

For you, since the file it's looking for was in your temp folder, it's not going to be able to find the workbook. Files in your temp folder are usually set up to be deleted every so often, so there is no longer a file named AMPprog.xls...

To find these links and remove them, open the workbook without updating the links. Press Cont + F (to find something) then type in AMPprog.xls.
This should locate the formulas that have the external reference in them...

***NOTE: the AMPprog.xls file may have been moved to another location on your hard drive! Do a search for the file first...
