Pivot Tables and the Count of Field

Hi,

I summarise my data using a pivot table to see what each salesman has sold breaking down into type of sale.

I also need to know how many customers he has sold to in any given period.

When i try an extra field below the value i.e. Count of customer name, it treats all repeats as an individual customer.

Is there a way that it will only count unique entries.

Thanks

Richard

try this... not elegent, but it may work. input 1 (one) in a column next to the customer name (if there is a customer name, put 1 in the cell of the adjacent column). name the column "cn count one", then in your pivot table, instead of count "customer name", do a sum "cn count one".
