excel macro

Now working in france they have french macros when i attempt to use them with my excel 2000 uk version the macro come up with an error

That shouldn't happen. VBA is in English only, Excel however has different language versions. The only problem i've seen (I work with spanish and english versions) is when working with Data validation and Conditional formatting, or using formulas from the Analysis Toolpak, is this the case ?

That's not entirely true. Prior to Excel 97 VBA was programmed in the language of the version in question (e.g. the French version of Excel 5.0 was programmed in French). If the macro was created using one of these versions then an additional file is required for Excel 97-02 to interpret it. Try here:-

Forgot that, i only use 97, 2000 and XP. So, yes, that's another thing to keep in mind.
