How to Post Your VBA Code

Please help the community members who are trying to answer your question, and try to use code tags to highlight your code snippets.

Quickly Wrap Selected Code

Simply select your code in the editor and click on button on the editor toolbar to quickly wrap as VBA code.

Selected code will be automatically wrapped with BB code tags.

You can also use button on the editor toolbar if you'd like to stylize your code in the editor or your code contains BB code tags (e.g. [B], [I], [COLOR]).

Insert Code Dialog Form

To insert code into a post:

  • Copy the code from VBE.
  • Type your message in the post editor, and click button on the editor toolbar.

  • Make sure VBA option is selected as language option in the "Insert code" dialog box, and paste your code into the text box.

  • Preferably you can click More Options and Preview your message to make sure your code looks as it is supposed to be.

  • You can also select Rich (BB Code) option if you'd like to stylize your code in the editor or your code contains BB code tags (e.g. [B], [I], [COLOR]).
  • For the code snippets other than VBA, use the corresponding language option or General code.

Inline Code Entry

Sometimes you might want to post single line codes that you can put in your sentences. In this case:

  • Select the code line in your message.

  • Click button on the editor toolbar, and preview your message.

Excel Function, Power Query M Code, and SQL Syntax Highlighting

You can also find buttons for highlighing Excel functions, Power Query M code, and SQL statements on the editor. Each button could be used to highlight code snippets in corresponding languages.
