Hi,

Thank you in advance if you can help with this...

I have 3 columns (Name, Pass Date, Fail Date) Each name will only have 1 date in either column B or C.

I want a formula that will say "if there is a date in the pass column (B) then this name is a pass, if there is a date in the Fail column (C) then this name is a Fail"

Can anyone help me with this?

Danielle

2Bill15/04/2013This name is a PassBobThis name is a Fail
3Ben15/04/2013This name is a Fail
4Bud15/04/2013This name is a Pass
5Bob15/04/2013This name is a Fail
6Su15/04/2013This name is a Pass
7Sue15/04/2013This name is a Fail

The formula in D2 needs to be copied down.
You can also have the name entered into a cell and the result populated along side it as in the example in F1:G2.

I hope that helps.
