65000 rows, 5 sheets, can I speed up calculation?

I am doing some basic IF stmts and VLOOKUP functions in about 6 columns on each sheet.

Is there any way to speed up the calculation time? Or, am I just pushing the limits too far on excel here? If so, is there another program that may work faster? I am willing to use Access. But I need Excel to do some calculations and sort the whole thing before I put it in Access.

Excel Facts

How to fill five years of quarters?
Type 1Q-2023 in a cell. Grab the fill handle and drag down or right. After 4Q-2023, Excel will jump to 1Q-2024. Dash can be any character.
65000 rows across 5 sheets! Wow! Yep, I can see that would be slow! Can you describe more fully what you are trying to achieve? Perhaps with examples of the data? My first inclination would be to suggest Access.

Best regards

Richard

I have the list on access under a "table." ALl my formulas in Excel work perfectly. It's just too many calcs I think.

I read that referencing the table in Access woudl speed update calcs. But I don't know how to reference that table within the formula in Excel.

Just curious: What are the formulas that you invoke and in how many cells?
