A brief (or not) question about shared workbooks

I am currently putting together a workbook that will be on a shared network drive and could possibly be used by multiple people in different locations at the same time. However, this is the first shared workbook I've been involved with and I have what is probably a very basic question.

One of the sheets in the workbook contains all the records that people have entered. Let's say those records go down to row 100. If two people enter new records at the same time then save the workbook, does Excel drop one on row 101 and the other on row 102 based on who saved theirs first?

As I mentioned, I really know very little about shared workbooks (having not worked on or created any before) and would appreciate any insight.

Many thanks.

What does custom number format of ;;; mean?
Three semi-colons will hide the value in the cell. Although most people use white font instead.
Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately I'm having a hard time pulling this up at work so I'm probably going to have to wait until I get home before I can look at it. I'm all for avoiding a shared workbook if there's a better way to allow multiple users to use this thing at the same time.

Egad. That article makes them sound like something to be avoided at all costs. Maybe I'll try something different. Thanks for the info.
