Stuck at home after a devastating injury. Put together a excel spreadsheet of youth track races in my county, just to pass the time. Decided I wanted to pull out various bits of data from the spreadsheet but got tired of scrolling through it and writing down what I was looking for. Decided I would learn VBA and write quick programs to find what I was looking for. Discovered (I bought the standard books - for dummies, power programming etc) that I had no idea what I was doing, since I am not a programmer at all. (The last programming I did was between 7th and 8th grade in 1981, at summer camp, 4 and 5 line basic programs).
My question is:
How do I proceed through a list of dates and races to find, for instance, the races where a runner was the only freshman in a race?
I managed to figure out how to proceed through the list and find the freshmen but I cant seem to differentiate each day and each race and if the runner was the only freshman in the race? I don't know how to make the program treat each race on each day as a separate event without running the macro/vba code for each individual race/date.
I'm not even sure my question makes sense.
Pasted below is a condensed example of my spreadsheet with made up names etc.
