Hello All,
Please help! Racking my brain for days.
I have formatted a column A for time. [hhh]:mm.... These times entered in A, will be mostly more than 24 hours say 40:35 (let say its in A1) I would like it to appear in B2 as a decimal for the minuets only as 40.58 I have formated column B is formatted as Decimal. Currently my formula is =HOUR(A1)+MINUET(A1)/60....
When entered I get back 16.58.

I think it has something to do with time being seen from midnight er something, not sure, or I am formatting my columns and cells wrong.

I will be adding column B for a total that needs to be as hours and the decimal equiv for the min. in the end for other calculations afterwords.

Any help would be appreciated! thanks!

Excel Facts

Whats the difference between CONCAT and CONCATENATE?
The newer CONCAT function can reference a range of cells. =CONCATENATE(A1,A2,A3,A4,A5) becomes =CONCAT(A1:A5)

Are looking wanting on minutes to show [=minute(A1)], hour [=hour(A1)]
or are you wanting the total hrs to be in minutes + the current minutes????

To convert an Excel time to decimal hours, multiply by 24 and format the cell as Number.

I am hoping to keep the hours as hours and the minuets as a decimal,,, 40:35 to come out as 40.58
