Absolute references

I am linking data from one worksheet to another and see that Excel makes those references absolute. Is there a way to be able to link data from one worksheet to another without it being an absolute reference? Right now I am having to go into each cell in the target worksheet and F4 change the references, which is very tedious.

If I'm interpreting your question correctly, your reference have $A$1 and you want just A1. If so, try using find and replace to replace $ with "" in your range.

Is it possible to limit the "replace" function to just one column? I have $ signs throughout the worksheet that I need to keep in place. There is only one column in which I need to replace $ with "". Thanks for your help.

I must be doing something wrong. When I try to replace the $ sign in absolute references with "", Excel tells me I have an error in my formula. Is there something else I must do to get at the $ sign within the absolute reference?
