What does absolute mean?

It means a number converted to positive no matter what its sign

=ABS(10) returns 10

=ABS(-10) returns 10

Or maybe you mean absolute cell references. You'll need to explain further.

Absolute means that its constant and will not change. For example when you have an absolute refrence in a formula, you would have something like this

=$A$3

With the $ in your formula, that way when you copy it across rows and columns, that refrence wont change. Cell B1, C1, D1, etc would all equal cell A3. However, if you dont have the $, when copying across rows and columns, B1, C1, etc, would equal A3, B3, etc
