Good Evening All,

Im in the very early stages of designing a new database using tabbed subforms
However what i have designed i have tested it and come up with a problem

The form is called frmMaster

and i have a tabbed subform with 2 tabs

Tab1 contains a subform called subformMain
Tab2 contains a subform called subformMain2

SubformMain and SubformMain2 are the same form

When i have inputted data on each subform and save and close the database. I reopen the database and all the data i have just typed in is on both Subforms

How can i keep the data to the subform i have inputted it on too

Many thanks in advance

Steve

Excel Facts

How can you turn a range sideways?
Copy the range. Select a blank cell. Right-click, Paste Special, then choose Transpose.
If they are the same form, they will have the same data. Not really sure what else to say. I don't quite understand why you have the same form twice or why you would expect them to be different when they are the same.

Many thanks for your reply

the database is used to record results from 3 games

tab1 is used for the home team and tab 2 is used for the away team

going on forward if on Record 1,tab1,Game A is won then on Record1,tab2,Game A must loose but thats something ill come to later on

Hope this helps

Okay. In general a form will display the data from the table (usually, from a table, anyway) that it's bound to. So from my perspective if you have a form bound to a table it will show the same data whether there is one or two of those forms - just the same thing twice.

That said, you can have the forms do things like filter data or make it look different in some way but like you said, that comes next.
