Access functionality in Excel

Hi good people!,

In Access one can create a form which may be updated and it will subsequently update the database it refers to as well. So, data in a database can be viewed in a form, AND changed using the form. Can something similar to this be achieved with Excel?. I have 2 sheets, "Database" and "Update Rooms". I want to use "Update Rooms" to view a selected room no, and also be able to make a change in status of the different items in the room, and this must then update the same item to the new status in the "Database" sheet. Is this at all possible?..Thanx for the time spent on this...

Whats the difference between CONCAT and CONCATENATE?
The newer CONCAT function can reference a range of cells. =CONCATENATE(A1,A2,A3,A4,A5) becomes =CONCAT(A1:A5)
Hi juriemagic,

you could do that, but that would require some VBA knowledge. One sheet would then be your "Form" and the other one the "data table". You'll need a couple of buttons on the form: a button (and input cell with the class room) to load the data and a button to save the data to your data sheet. It's unfortunately a bit of a hassle compared to MS Access, but with some VBA knowledge it's doable.

Cheers,

Koen

Thanx Koen,

I have while waiting for a response, managed to get something going. It's a teenie bit of a roundabout way, but it does the job. I decided to leave the thread hoping to get a more direct answer, but I'm happy the way things turned out. Thanx Koen..
