Hi.
When I work, I'll have to reconcile some accounting.
I get a bankstatement in Excel, and a number on an accounting program.

I have to match to number in the program, with the numbers from the bankstatement.

Problem is the numbers are split in the bankstatement, so I have to search through numbers, and find the ones that will add up to my desired number.

I wonder, is there already a way to to it, or could I with VBA try to create a way, there a could, fx enter my number in a cell, and the numbers from the bank, the adds up to the number, would turn green or something..
The point is, that I dont have to search the numbers.

Best.

Hi

You lost me a bit, would you have an example of your data and your desired results?

Hi.

My data would look like:

Date - Text - Amount - Balance
1/1-00 - Food - $50 - $-100.000
And then a long list.

The beginning is me looking in an accounting program, and see a number.

I then go to the bank account, and get an Excel sheet. With data looking like what a wrote.

My accounting program gives me the Sum, and I then have to find maybe 4-10 transactions in the bank sheet, that adds up to the Sum.
I look in the column "Amount", which is mixed with other transactions.

I wanted to use VBA, to find these 4-10 transactions that added up to my Sum, and maybe an extension could be that it could search and find the number with a deviation of some amount (for exchange rate changes).

Thank you for your respons :)
