Is it possible to add a activex control to vb References,Microsoft Windows common controls - 26.0 (SP4), File Type .OCX, automatically when the workbook is first opened? I read in a forum where Microsoft is no longer using this control but it seems I need it to format a Userform Textbox for a telephone number. The control is MSCOMCT2.OCX.

Excel Facts

Save Often
If you start asking yourself if now is a good time to save your Excel workbook, the answer is Yes
It may appear in the list automatically if it is put with the other .OCX files, but it will still need to be registered using regservr32. Choices for this seem to be ... the folder containing excel.exe, \Office\ folder, \WINDOWS\System32.

May be able to do this latter job via SHELL().

Be interested to know how you get on. It does seem a relatively simple matter. :o :-D :-D

Why do you need this control to format a textbox?
