Add a code to list

I have a sorted list of names and would like to add a unique code to each.
The code must be made up of the first 2 letter of the name plus 3 numbers, starting at 001.
AN001 Andy
AN002 Andrew
AN003 Annie
SA001 Sanlam
SA002 Sanral
Any help will be appreciated
