I am trying to write a macro to add a star, unicode 2605, to add to a value in a cell based on a value in another cell. I know my code is checking for the value, but I can not get the star to print.

I hope someone can help me.

How about sharing the code you have so that we can see what you are trying to do.

Try this:
Code:
Sub addstar()
ActiveSheet.Cells(1, 1) = ChrW(2605)
End Sub

Ricki--Still haven't seen your code to evaluate and help you. Please provide a copy. We don't have crystal balls at this site.

This worked for me. Put * in Cell A1

Code:
Option Explicit

Sub addstar()
ActiveSheet.Cells(1, 1) = ChrW(8727)
End Sub

If you prefer this star

Then change 8727 to 9733
