I have two workbooks. One contains a template and the other contains the code to operate it. Most of the code is started by the use of buttons on the template. When the Add-In is installed the code which is run by the use of "hot" keys works, but when the buttons are clicked, the template tries to find the original .xls file.

What is the solution to this problem and can I still keep my buttons?

Lock one reference in a formula
Need 1 part of a formula to always point to the same range? use $ signs: $V$2:$Z$99 will always point to V2:Z99, even after copying
I've noticed this behaviour when you use Save As... in Excel. The only simple way I have found is to duplicate the file in Windows Explorer.
If you use the Explorer, button references update to the new file; otherwise they don't.

I'd be happy to be proved wrong on this one because it's a pain.

Thankyou SydneyGeek.

Forgive my slowness, but I cannot see the connexion betwen Save As and the use of a file as an Add-In. I can duplicate the file, but that would mean that I get no benefit from loading the file as an Add-In.

The problem occurs when I use the buttons on the template which refer directly to the second workbook. Instead of finding the code in the Add-In it looks around for the .xls workbook.
