Addin-manager 2003

Hi,

I am (un)fortunate enough to work still with Excel 2003. I have a couple of add-ins which appear in the add-in manager but which it cannot retrieve because I changed the location of those .xla.

The add-in manager can find my add-ins at the new location, but the "old" ones remain in the add-in manager but they return errors ... How can I remove these from the add-in manager??

If you try to install the add-in don't you get the option to remove it from the list? Then you can Browse to re-add it.

Hi Andrew,

I have re-added them already. But the old ones remain in there... and they return errors.
If I click on the "old" add-in name, it will ask me to delete it from list ... but that will only last until I restart Excel, then they appear again in the list.

Did you actually delete it from the list? I've not known that not to be permanent.

But they come back ... nasty little things!

I have found the "remedy" though ...

1.Uncheck them all (the "old" and the "new" add-in)
2. Click the old add-in ..so it requests to delete it from the list
3. Delete it
4. Re-check the "new" add-in.

I can't reproduce that behaviour, at least in Excel 2000.
