Adding a field to an Import Spec

Currently use an Import Spec that imports a csv file containing some 50 fields.

The layout of the csv file has changed and a new field has been added (at field 24). I can't work out how to add an additional field in the existing.

If not possible, how do I create a new import spec, ensuring I pull in the column names?

Thank You

Excel Facts

What is =ROMAN(40) in Excel?
The Roman numeral for 40 is XL. Bill "MrExcel" Jelen's 40th book was called MrExcel XL.
I haven't one this for a few years, but I have done it with Acc2000 or 2003.

First thing I'd suggest is backup your database

Then when you go to do the import, if you click the Advanced button a new form will appear.
There is a button called Specs, click it to get a list of Saved Specifications.

Select the one you want, and you will get a field list showing column field starts in and length.

Insert the field where you want it and identify its data type and length.

When you're done, I'd suggest saving it SAVE AS newName for the spec

That way you haven't clobbered the old one.

As I said, it's been a while, but I've just stepped thru the screens (on Acc 2003) and that appears to be it.

Good luck.
