Hello, I have been trying to add minutes and hours with no luck. I have the name of a task in "A" and how long it takes to complete the task in "B". All i want to do is to have a total of time it takes in hour and min format. I don't care if the hr/min are separated by a " . " or a " : ". With the example below I would like to have a result of 2hrs and 8mins 2.08 or 2:08. I have tried the different time formats and time formulas, all i am doing now is confusing myself.

Thanks,

A------------------- B
Get dressed ----- .10 or :10
Put on shoes----- .05 or :05
Eat --------------.35 or :35
Brush teeth ------ .03 or :03
Drive to work ---- 1.15 or 1:15

Total -------------2.08 or 2:08

Do you hate GETPIVOTDATA?
Prevent GETPIVOTDATA. Select inside a PivotTable. In the Analyze tab of the ribbon, open the dropown next to Options and turn it off

When you enter the time values enter them in this format: h:mm

If you want to enter 10 minutes enter it as 0:10.

Then, a simple sum formula will do:

=SUM(B1:B5)

Format the sum formula cell as [h]:mm.

The brackets [ ] will keep the hours from rolling over into days.

Thanks for your guys help, I added the zeros in the hours place when it was just min only and it works now. Obviously didn't now it was required.
