Hi - I need to add the same cell (F9) in three worksheets. I can't get the syntax right - I keep trying sum(worksheet1:worksheet3) but it doesn't work. I don't want to point to the cell in each sheet because if I add new sheets I want to make sure the summary page adds the new inserted worksheet. Does anyone know the correct syntax.

Thanks!

Excel Facts

Format cells as currency
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+4 to format cells as currency. (Shift 4 is the $ sign).
=sum(sheet1:sheet3!F9)

a 'trick' you might consider - set up 2 dummy sheets, one at the start of the book, one at the end, call them something like start & end. As long as all the other sheets are between these 2,

=sum(start:endA1)

will sum A1 from all sheets in the book.
