Hi Peoples...

is there a way you can add time to a date cell?? the cell is in date format in mm/dd/yy hh:mm:ss. I'd like to add ten hours to each of the entries.

Thanks in advance

Excel Facts

Move date out one month or year
Use =EDATE(A2,1) for one month later. Use EDATE(A2,12) for one year later.
Hello ToffaJ

To add 10 hours make sure that you enter the data as 10:00:00 eg Cell A1 contains 15/10/02 05:30:00 and cell B1 contains 10:00:00 and finally cell C1 contains =A1+B1 the result will be 15/10/02 15:30:00

cheers

If you add 10 to your current value you will add 10 days, as Excel stores dates and times as parts of a day. If you want to add 10 hours to a time/date,

=A1+(10/24)

where A1 holds your source date/time.

Another option, depending on exactly what you're trying to do here:

enter 10:00 in a spare cell, select it & hit copy. now select the cell(s) you want to add 10 hrs to, go to edit | paste special, select 'add', hit OK.
