Is there a way to add unrelated data table in a graph? What I meant by unrelated is that the data is not in the series. I have a simple bar & line graph with 2 axis. One axis is for the amount of CDs maturing each month and the other axis is for the weighted average interest rate of the CDs maturing each month. My CFO wants me to add a box at the bottom to show the cumulative amount of CDs maturing from month to month.
I'm using excel 2003. Thank you for your help!

Hi
Welcome to the board

You mean to add inside the chart a textbox that reflects the value of a cell?

You can add a textbox linked to a cell.

Example: in Sheet1!A1 you have the cumulative amount.

Then:

- select the chart
- in the formula bar write: =Sheet1!A1
- press enter

You'll see that the chart has now a textbox with the value of A1. Since the textbox and the cell are linked, if A1 changes value, it will be reflected on the textbox in the chart.

If you want the textbox to have some text, compose the string in a cell. Ex., in B1:

="Cumulative amount: "&A1

and then use B1 as the cell linked to the textbox.

Nice! But what's showing in the box right now is the formula itself, rather than the value in the cell. What did I do wrong?
