Hello all,

I have a spread sheet where I am tracking holiday gifts - we have 4 different values ($15, $20, $30, $50). We have 450 employees from 14 different locations. Each person is getting a different gift value. (Because I have 14 different locations, I have rows with nothing or a zero value).

What's the fastest way to count how many of each denomination I will need to order?

Excel Facts

Using Function Arguments with nested formulas
If writing INDEX in Func. Arguments, type MATCH(. Use the mouse to click inside MATCH in the formula bar. Dialog switches to MATCH.
say the denominations were in col a you could use countif

=countif(a:a,15)
=countif(a:a,20)
=countif(a:a,30)
=countif(a:a,50)

What criteria do you use to determine who gets what gift?
